aMAYzing MAY Special
To celebrate the onset of autumn, Afribode is offering 15% off all accommodation of three nights or more for the month of May 2013.
Autumn in Cape Town is one of the most beautiful seasons and some may say the best time to visit. The vineyards turn to bright red, brown, orange and yellow and the countryside transforms into fields of gold and scarlet.
Temperatures remain fairly comfortable with daily highs ranging between 21°C to 19°C and lows from 9°C to 11°C. The wind drops and although rain becomes more common toward the end of the month, this generally remains light to moderate.
Known as the ‘secret season’ by locals, autumn allows the best of both summer and winter and is full of unexpected delights. There is plenty of opportunity for the outdoorsy; the fynbos turns green, the waterfalls begin to flow on the mountain, the squirrels are out in their droves gathering acorns for winter, and the Egyptian geese start nesting. In addition, restaurants start lighting their fires and start their winter specials offering their tasting menus at a fraction of the summer prices.
