Some Simple Tips To Help You Enjoy Your Dream Holiday In Cape Town
This isn’t your ordinary safety post, I won’t tell you that you mustn’t leave your hotel at night and that you must spend the entire holiday giving everyone you encounter the shifty eye.
I feel there is far too much hype around whether Cape Town is safe or not but you shouldn’t let this stop you from enjoying your holiday. Cape Town is just like any city around the world. Don’t get me wrong I am not saying it is okay to exhibit to the world that you are walking around with stacks of money, I am just trying to tell you to spend less time worrying and more time enjoying.
My first tip for you is to just remember to keep your personal belongings on you and in your sight at all times. Now, for some this is obvious, but for those of you who live in different countries, this might not be front and center in your mind. Just be vigilant of where your belongings are.
Secondly, I think it is important that you are just always aware of what is around you and that you are not creating easy opportunities for potential threats. The biggest mistake people make is showing that they have a large amount of cash on them which is bound to attract any opportunist that takes note.
Lastly, some common sense will go a long way to making sure that your holiday is a success and don’t do things that you wouldn’t even do in your hometown, like accept a drink from a stranger or accept help while at the ATM. Crime is a reality around the world unfortunately, but fortunately there are loads of very friendly locals so go out and experience the wonderful variety of cultures that Cape Town has to offer.
The most important tip that we can give you, is to experience as much as you can. There is so much to see in and around Cape Town that one quick tour simply won’t do it justice.
