The following pages give a brief overview of Cape Town’s main attractions and activities. You can’t hope to “do” Cape Town in two days – it’s impossible – we recommend that first time visitors base themselves in Cape Town for at least a week to properly experience the city and its people.
Cape Town Central: Company’s Gardens, SA Natural History Museum, Planetarium, SA National Gallery, Castle of Good Hope, Slave Lodge, District Six Museum, Bo Kaap Malay Quarter, Greenmarket Square, Convention Centre.
Cape Town Surrounds: Table Mountain Cable Car, V&A Waterfront, Robben Island Ferry, Two Oceans Aquarium, Sea Point Promenade, Camps Bay and Clifton beaches, Cape Town Stadium, Green Point Urban Park.
Greater Cape Town Area (15-20 km): Kirstenbosch Botanic Gardens, Constantia Winelands, Seal Island, Chapman’s Peak, Bloubergstrand, Township Tours.
Day Trips from Cape Town: (40-100km) Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek, Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point, The Penguins at Boulders Beach, Simon’s Town, Hermanus Whale Watching (Aug-Nov), Gansbaai Shark Cage Diving, West Coast Spring Flowers, Aquila Game Reserve, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve (free roaming elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, etc).
