Mutual Heights

Mutual Heights, in the very heart of Cape Town, is significant as a brilliant example of Art Deco architecture. Opened in 1940 as the highest building in Africa, it is now a National Heritage Site. Recently converted from offices into apartments, the building retains many original features like an impressive marble entrance, central atrium, prismoid windows and magnificent frieze showing the colonial settlement of the Cape stretching around the building’s exterior. More contemporary features include 24-hour security with access control, a gym and parking garage accessible by skybridge.
